We’re seeking a commercially astute Planning & Reporting Lead for an approximate 8-month fixed-term opportunity to lead financial planning, reporting, and insight across our Wholesale and Retail businesses.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior leadership role where you’ll drive financial performance, influence decision-making, and partner closely with leaders across the organisation during a key period.

About the Role

As the Planning & Reporting Lead, you’ll take ownership of delivering high-quality management accounting, forecasting, and reporting. You’ll provide clear financial insights, lead budgeting cycles, and ensure strong financial governance while supporting business performance and strategic outcomes.

Leading a small, capable team, you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to provide value-adding financial advice and maintain strong financial discipline across the business.

Key Responsibilities

📊 Management Reporting & Financial Insight

  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • Provide meaningful analysis and insights to support business decisions
  • Support development and review of business cases

📈 Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process (as applicable within the fixed-term period)
  • Manage monthly forecasting cycles
  • Deliver forward-looking financial insights to support planning and performance

🛡 Financial Control & Governance

  • Maintain and enhance financial control frameworks
  • Ensure consistent accounting practices across the organisation

🤝 Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnering

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders and Dealer Principals
  • Provide expert financial guidance to support business objectives
  • Support and upskill branch and finance teams

👥 Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach and support the Planning & Reporting team
  • Ensure delivery of accurate, timely and high-quality outputs
  • Contribute to Finance leadership and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

You’re an experienced finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys partnering with the business to drive results.

Your skills and experience include:

  • Strong background in management accounting, planning and reporting
  • Proven business partnering and stakeholder management capability
  • Solid understanding of New Zealand compliance requirements
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (CAANZ desirable)
  • 5+ years’ post-qualification experience
  • Exposure to, or interest in, the agricultural sector (beneficial)
